And when the doors closed on that final night on June 27th, when Albert King, the J. Geils Band, Mountain, Country Joe, Edgar Winter's White Trash, the Beach Boys and the Allman Brothers Band performed the last notes to ever be played at the Fillmore East and watched its doors close forever.
The above is just a glimpse of some of the memorable nights of music that occurred at the Fillmore East, I spent many nights at the Fillmore, it was a very special time in my life, I was fortunate enough to witness some of the most amazing concerts ….But looking back on it, it wasn't just the concerts, the theatre itself had a lot to do with it too. Its intimacy, its acoustics, its beauty,it had an aura to it. and anyone who was there knows what I mean.
I will never forget that magical time, a time that we will never see the likes of again.
